164 pianists from 33 countries were admitted to preliminary stage of Chopin Competition, Warsaw 2020.The most numerous are representatives of China, Japan, Poland, and South Korea. There are also pianists from France, Italy, Russia, USA,
The preliminaries will be held between the 17 and 28 April 2020 in the Chamber Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic and will be judged by a Jury: Ludmil Angelov, Akiko Ebi, Philippe Giusiano, Alberto Nosè, Piotr Paleczny, Ewa Pobłocka, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, John Rink, Marta Sosińska-Janczewska, Wojciech Świtała, Stefan Wojtas and Dina Yoffe.
The jury will select about 80 pianists who will take part in the Competition in October 2020.
